Joy may return in small ways first.
Not all at once.
Not loudly.
But quietly—like a smile that surprises you, a warm drink that comforts you, or a kind message that reminds you you’re not alone.
These moments don’t betray your grief. They don’t mean you’ve forgotten. They are gentle gifts—small reminders that life can still offer light, even after loss.
Let joy in when it comes.
You don’t have to chase it or question it.
You can receive it without guilt, knowing God gives joy as tenderly as He gives comfort.

A Gentle Prayer
God,
Thank You for the small moments of joy
You place in my path.
Help me notice them
and receive them
without fear or guilt.
Teach me to trust that joy and grief
can live side by side
as You continue to heal my heart.
I welcome Your gentle gifts today.
Amen.
