You are allowed to miss who you were before—and still become who God is shaping now.
Loss changes us. It alters how we move through the world, how we see ourselves, and how we imagine the future. Missing your former self does not mean you are stuck; it means you are aware of what this journey has cost you.
God does not erase who you were.
He carries that version of you forward into who you are becoming.
You are not losing yourself.
You are being reshaped—with care.

A Gentle Prayer
God,
Honor the parts of me
that miss what was familiar
and safe.
Walk with me
as You shape
what comes next.
Help me trust
that You are gentle
with every version of me.
Amen.
