You can feel thankful and still ache deeply. Gratitude does not erase grief, and grief does not cancel gratitude. Both can live honestly in the same heart.
You do not dishonor your loss by noticing what is still good. And you do not dishonor God by admitting what still hurts.
God meets you in the fullness of your feelings—not just the ones that feel easier to explain.

A Gentle Prayer
God, help me hold grief and gratitude together without guilt.
Meet me gently in the complexity of this day.
