You can miss what was and still trust God for what’s next.

Those two things do not cancel each other out.

Your memories matter. The life you shared matters. Holding space for what was does not mean you lack faith—it means you loved deeply. And trusting God for what’s next doesn’t require you to let go of the past before you’re ready.

God can carry both.
He holds your remembering and your hoping in the same hands.
He honors the love behind your grief and the faith behind your steps forward.

You don’t have to choose between then and now. God is present in both.

A Gentle Prayer

God, thank You for holding my past and my future together.
Help me honor what was while trusting You with what’s ahead.
Carry the memories I cherish and the hopes I’m still learning to hold.
I place both into Your loving care. Amen.
