There are seasons when faith feels strong—like a steady anchor. And then there are seasons when faith feels fragile—like glass in your hands.
Grief can do that. It can make you question things you thought you settled long ago. It can make your prayers feel heavy. It can make worship feel complicated, because you’re praising God while your heart is still aching.
If you’ve felt this tension, you are not alone.
Sometimes faith after loss is not bold declarations. Sometimes faith is simply staying turned toward God, even when you’re confused. Sometimes faith is showing up to church when you don’t feel like singing. Sometimes faith is opening your Bible and saying, “Lord, help me believe.”
God is not offended by your fragile faith. He is gentle with it. He knows what you have endured. He knows what your heart has carried.
And the beautiful truth is this: you are not held by the strength of your grip on God—you are held by the strength of His grip on you.
When you feel weak, you are not disqualified. You are human. And God meets humans in their weakness.
Scripture
Mark 9:24 — “I believe; help my unbelief!”
Reflection Questions
- Where does my faith feel most fragile right now?
- What would it look like to bring that honestly to God?
- What is one simple spiritual practice I can return to this week?
Prayer
Lord, I believe—but I need Your help. Strengthen what feels fragile in me. Hold me steady when I feel uncertain and remind me You are faithful even when I feel weak. Amen.
With hope,
Joan
